The laws and regulations on VOC emission reduction have been issued successively 95% of furniture manufacturing in China is still using traditional solvent based coatings (such as pupenc). According to 2013, 1.3 million tons of wood coatings are used. The total VOC discharged to the air exceeds 600000 tons, which has caused serious air quality pollution. Challenges of rising labor costs In recent years, the whole furniture manufacturing industry has faced with the intensified competition in all aspects at home and abroad. The labor cost of some Southeast Asian countries is only one-third of that of China. However, traditional furniture manufacturers in Europe and America have the advantages of design, brand and painting automation, and the domestic furniture manufacturers have overcapacity and intensified homogenization competition, which eventually leads to the worsening of the industry ecology, It has led to the loss or failure of many famous enterprises in the near future. How to solve the pressure of young labor force no longer willing to engage in high pollution traditional furniture manufacturing and labor cost rising year by year has become a difficult choice for all furniture manufacturing enterprises. 3. Challenges to productivity improvement In recent years, the rapid development of custom home furnishing industry has brought the traditional furniture manufacturing industry how to meet the requirements of terminal quickly. Only by optimizing the design and manufacturing process and improving the coating efficiency can we meet the new market competition demand. 4. Opportunities for applying environmental protection and high efficiency coating technology If a coating scheme can meet the environmental protection, high efficiency (low VOC emission, low physical hazard, can be completed in one day or several hours), it is possible to achieve real industrial upgrading and win new development opportunities in the future competition. The choice of environmental protection coating: the single or combined scheme of water-based, water-based light curing, solvent-free and high solid UV, powder coating and other high solid coatings can achieve low VOC emission; Meanwhile, the high solid UV coating can realize energy saving coating (relative to water-based and powder coating); High efficiency coating: the most advantageous is uvpaint (only a few seconds for one coating). From December 4 to 6, Bohai Company appeared in the international coatings exhibition with a new image as a high-end water paint integrated solution provider, and achieved a complete success. After the exhibition, the exhibition team made a review to summarize the highlights and gains of the exhibition.     Through observation, we found that most of the products that customers consulted were waterborne wood lacquer emulsion WE6154. They paid high attention to the transparency, high gloss and chemical resistance of the product. For the two-component wood lacquer emulsion WE2396, many people had focused on the characteristics of the product, such as high hardness, good resistance to cigarette butts, anti collapse and good extinction. ⋯⋯                 In the field of UV curing, the most familiar product is water-based UV resin. Customers were very interested in the feature that it can add water or alcohol at will, and BH-W-08C's fast drying, good coloring and good wettability that can solve the problem of difficult coloring of wood primer; as for BH-W-09C, customers also did a detailed understanding on its good gloss, high hardness, and excellent properties. Oily UV curable resin were consulted about its adhesion, flexibility, yellowing resistance and so on.
